You are invited to the Last Supper,

this time with a new dessert.

You will be enthralled

and never want to keep quiet again.

There’s a twinkle to the bread

and a twist to the story.

We are talking about the end of hunger

and the embrace of wonder.

Get drunk on His smile that spreads

to form the rim of the universe.

Be in this happy crowd of broken people,

each boasting their own insanity:

women emerging from the weeds

men shedding stoicism

children done with doom scrolling

dogs end their whimpering.

Together we eat love and every act

flowing from the table is fed by love.

And, there is music

a carillon pealing gratitude.
