Abel the Just, Patron of Victims, Pray for us. Not the histrionic ones or numbskulls who create their own damned misery but those oppressed by the eminence of circumstance: emergencies, disease, another’s incompetence, wildfires – the innocent ones. Pray for them, remembering your head bashed in by your brother left to rot in a furrow of your well-tended field. Ask the God of Justice to live up to the name; no matter God’s answer reach out to the wounded and hold their hand.
