Crashing waves,
the constant applause
of earth for creation.

Hear this jungle beach
the hum of the blue sky
and the suspiration of palm trees
offering anthems of praise.

Fan into flame
any spark of joy
let your full body smile.

Invite any invocation of gratitude.
Relish every action of grace.
Rejoice in whatever good you do.

Then, look not askew at the distressed,
those who escaped, the dispossessed.
Rather, dress the survivors’ wounds.

The waves crash their constant appeal
for the salvation of God’s creation
for good to be done to God’s creatures.
