Every papa bear gene in his body
screams survive. Mind clear, muscles ready
he knows his duty, save his family.
Baby under her veil, strapped to her breast
feeding on the run. Hungry and exhausted,
at all costs they can’t get arrested.
The fear of a hostile and foreign home
is less than the terror of military cops.
An angel’s promise their only hope.
The memory of Pharo’s army drowned
sustains them. Where there was no way
God made a way, a promise of sanctuary.
San José, patron of families,
evade the king’s ambition and rage.
Guide the way of fleeing refugees.
Santa Maria, help of migrants,
carry in the flesh that one Word
that will save the life of the world.
My prayer for you is that you have peace of heart this Christmas season especially if you are going through a hard time.
Thanks for taking the time for this poem. If you like it, give it a heart and share it with a friend.
