As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35

I’m attracted to the electric buzz
of your primordial face
because you make all things new.

You dwell with the human race,
You are my God and I will be
someone who struggles to love the person

who orders “a half-caf-soy-latte-agave-nectar
no-foam-venti and split it in two cups” when
I’m in line with a medically indicated need
for immediate caffeine, much less love
the loudmouth defending everything I am against.

But, I will pause,
surrender and outsource
my power to love
to you. Let your love
be through me.

“As I have loved you,
so you must do”
can only be
when you love through me
which begins
when I bend my knee.
