Blest Are You
Blest be this breath to say blest be.
Blest be the God who gave it to me.
Blest are you, simple in spirit
for then you are God’s prophet.
Blest are you when you suffer with another,
for you will find grief’s gift together.
Blest are you when humble
then you are most teachable.
Blest are you when you embrace justice
then peace will come into focus.
Blest are you when singlehearted
your way will be straightforward.
Blest are you when a holy outcast
then you are God’s aristocrat.
Blest is the day when you can say
Blest be this present, precious day.
May you be blest in the way that suits you. Thank you for attending to this poem. If you got something out of it, let me know with a heart or comment. I always love to hear from you.
